The Advantages Of All-on-4 Implants

Patients missing most or all of their teeth have more treatment options than ever before. Rather than settling for removable dentures, consider the advantages of dental implants:

Maximum Stability

Implants anchor your prosthetic teeth to your jawbone, keeping your restoration securely in place at all times. Treatment allows you to eat all of your favorite chewy and crunchy foods once again and speak with perfect clarity.

Better Dental Health

Missing teeth over a long period of time can lead to serious dental health conditions. Implants are the only treatment that replaces your missing tooth roots, stimulating your oral tissues and preventing bone recession.

Youthful Appearance

Dental implants not only give you a full, healthy-looking smile but help you maintain a youthful appearance. They preserve your bone density so you do not develop the sunken facial structures often seen in patients with tooth loss.

A Closer Look At All-On-4® Dental Implants

All-on-4 is a sophisticated dental implant placement technique that maximizes the support from existing jawbone tissue. Instead of placing six or more implants straight down into the jaw, Dr. Armstrong secures your entire restoration with only four implants. Two of the implants are placed at strategic angles in the jaw to maximize contact with the remaining bone tissue. The resulting All-on-4 denture will function and feel just like your natural teeth.

Steps of All-On-4 dental implants treatment

Dr. Armstrong believes that preparation is key to achieving the best possible outcome. Your treatment will begin with a thorough consultation and a detailed planning process. He will use the latest technology to ensure accuracy of implant placement such as Cone Beam CT scan, 3D scans of jaw and guided surgery techniques.
Unlike some dentists, Dr. Armstrong performs every step of treatment at our Chattanooga-area office. We will use local anesthetic to numb the treatment area. For your comfort, we offer several types of profound sedation dentistry. This includes conscious sedation, IV sedation and access to deeper and safe sedation by a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Often times some teeth must be removed at the same time as implant placement. This ensure good bone stability. At least 4 implants are placed to establish a secure foundation to the immediate restoration of new teeth. These are not removable by the patient and typically will stay in while patient heals before the final restoration.
Finally, Dr. Armstrong will secure a denture to the implants so you can leave with a fully functional smile. While this prosthetic is only temporary, it will still look and function just like your natural teeth. Once you completely heal from the procedure, you will return to get your permanent denture. The final restoration is an implant bridge crafted by the best labs in the country. A Zirconia material and Porcelain is used to provide the best looking, fitting and lasting prosthesis.

Your Recovery

The recovery for All-on-4 procedure is usually met with only mild healing symptoms. We place only the amount of implants necessary and unlike many corporate offices, we are always available to our patients as they recover.

Over the next seven to 10 days, we will closely monitor your progress during post-op appointments to ensure you are healing properly. Whileit does take most patients a few days to adjust to their new implant restoration, most are able to eat and speak normally within a week.
